Mike Zevon, NY1's Queens Person of the Week

Mike Zevon, Assistant Director of Teen Services at Queens Community House, was named Queens New Yorker of the Month by New York 1. Mike participated in QCH's youth programs starting at age 12 and has spent his whole adult career working tirelessly in the program--running the teen center, the young men's leadership program and athletics. The programs that he directs are now in jeopardy due to budget cuts on the state and city level. He credits QCH for getting him on track as a teenager and is deeply committed to continuing these programs which keep young people off the streets and provide them with options that promote success. The young people in his program recommended him to be Queens New Yorker of the Month because of his dedication to his participants and his community as well as his advocacy on behalf of the programs.
